Coordinate and
supervise the management, collection, documentation and interpretation
of data collected for longitudinal surveys, rapid response,
fisheries nutrients and other special request sampling efforts.
Supervise and conduct water quality monitoring surveys to meet
sampling objectives and schedules for other programs within
the Water Quality Monitoring Program. Coordinate the submission,
delivery and shipment of water samples to appropriate laboratories
with proper documentation, labeling and packaging for the purpose
of assuring sample integrity and analysis. Responsible for
the maintenance and calibration of scientific instrumentation
and laboratory equipment according to manufacturers instructions
and Standard Operating Procedures for quality assurance purposes.
Administrative supervision of other Natural Resources Biologists
and Natural Resources Technicians to include performance evaluations,
approval of leave and conflict mediation. Direct the procurement,
organization and assembly of sampling equipment, instruments
and laboratory supplies necessary to successfully conduct water
quality surveys. Recruit, interviews and hire personnel necessary
to maintain enough staff within the Monitoring Program to complete
our workload. Communicate the scope and nature of our water
quality investigations, including Pfiesteria related work to
other DNR units, the public, and media from remote field locations. |
